Nic Cory (Josh) is a recent graduate of the musical theatre program at Carnegie Mellon. Originally from California, he is thrilled to be back in New York where he began his college career at Columbia University. Favorite roles include Brad Majors in The Rocky Horror Show (Club El Flamingo), Philip II in Don Carlos (CMU) and Captain Lancey in Translations (Stanford Summer Theatre). He is very excited to be making his Fringe debut with The Boys Upstairs.
Joel T. Bauer (Seth) is thrilled to be making his Fringe debut, and to be working with such a great group of girls. Regional: Candide at Arden Theatre Company (Maximilian), A Christmas Carol at The McCarter Theatre, NY: NYMF. Joel is a Wisconsin native, University of Michigan Musical Theatre graduate, and former student of the Moscow Art Theatre. Proud member AEA.
Kristen-Alexzander Griffith (Ashley) is so excited to be a part of such a wonderful show! Most recently seen playing Davis Roberts on the popular web-series DramaQueenz other credits include: Angel in the national tour of Rent for which he received Chicago Black Theatre Alliance Award nomination, Judah/Calypso Soloist in the b'way tour of Joseph...Dreamcoat, Regional: Pippin (Leading Player), Lachuisa's Wild Party (Phil), Chicago (Mary Sunshine), La Cage Aux Folles (Jacob), and much more. Training: The Boston Conservatory, Interlochen Arts Academy. Thanks to God, family and everyone at The Mine for the endless love and support. This performance is dedicated to Elisa.
Josh Segarra (Eric) graduated from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts about 1 year ago. He can currently be seen as one of the stars of the all new "Electric Company" on PBS. (Hector Ruiz) While in school, he shot five feature films including: the Ministers alongside John Leguizamo and Harvey Keitel to be released in the coming year, The Narrows, Tiny Dancer, and others. He performed in numerous NYU productions and made his Off – Broadway debut in Fools in Love as Demetrius (Manhattan Ensemble Theatre). This is his first production with the Fringe Festival and couldn't be more excited to be working with this amazing group. He wants to thank his family and friends for being with him every step of the way on this journey. David A. Rudd (The Boy) moved to NYC from the Midwest 6 years ago. In that time, he's been busy as hell. He's been acting, writing, directing, modeling, designing and teaching all over the city. Major film/television credits include "Persistence" - director (SWB Films), "Whirlwind” – Drake (Jupiter Box Productions/Wolfe Films), and "Growing Up Gotti" - himself (A&E). Stage credits include King Lear - Edgar (Michigan Shakespeare Festival), Burn This - Pale (BoarsHead Theatre), Designers With Dirty Faces - Klein Deutschland (Fashion Play Festival 2005), Alcibiades the Athenian - Alcibiades (Samantha Tella), Murder Uncensored - Sam (Wings Theater), The Other Side of Darkness - Steven Manners (NYC Fringe '07), and the NYC Fringe 2008 hit The Fabulous Kane Sisters in Box Office Poison. David is looking forward to a great deal more film and stage work and has truly enjoyed the journey so far.
Matthew Corozine (Director) is very excited to direct for The Fringe and to work with this unique creative team. Matthew is the Artistic Director of his own theatre, MATTHEW COROZINE STUDIO THEATRE, INC., a 40 seat theatre in Times Square where he directs and teaches acting rooted in the Meisner Technique since 2000. Favorite NYC directing credits include: The Maidens Prayer by Nicky Silver (Beckett Theatre, Theatre Row), Crimes of the Heart, The Shadow Box, and the NYC premier of Confessions of a Morman Boy. The actors Matthew coaches are currently working on Broadway and TV & film in both NYC and LA. Students currently on Broadway in: Wicked, Chicago, In the Heights, The Lion King, Avenue Q, Hair, 9 to 5, and on TV: "30 Rock", "Law and Order", "Gossip Girl", NY Soaps and many National Commercials. January 2009, Italian Vogue (L'UOMO VOGUE) selected and featured Matthew as one of eight "New York Icons", on a full page, in their Iconic People Edition. Nick Gonsman (Lighting Designer, Sound Designer) is a freelance designer and consultant based in New York. He designs lighting for theatre, dance, architecture and film. In addition to lighting, Nick designs graphics and web content, and consults on theatrical and architectural lighting systems specification and layout. Favorite LD credits include Ultraviolet Live, A Colorful Stroke of Genius, Time Framed, Lobster Alice, Below the Belt, Arcadia, Touch, and Tape. He enjoys new, relevant, and edgy theatre. Nick also works in the New York Office of ETC as Field Project Coordinator, where he specializes in control theory and networking. Justin Couchara (Scenic & Costume Designer) New York credits: Caprice, Alley of Masks (Wings Theatre Co.), 1st Asst. scenic designer for Dance Dance Revolution! (Ohio Theatre) and projection media creator for Speech and Debate (Roundabout Underground). Regional credits: Spinning Into Butter (Montgomery Theater), Into the Woods, Cheaper by the Dozen (University of Findlay) and scenic painting for Camelot, Lend Me a Tenor and Ordinary Days (Pennsylvania Centre Stage). Television credits: assistant props master for Discovery Channel's "Crime Scene University". Penn State credits: PUSH, 304, A Year with Frog and Toad and scenic charge artist for Pentecost. Justin is a native of Worcester, PA and a graduate of Penn State with a BFA in scenic design. Abbi Stern (Costume Designer) Making her NYC Fringe debut with The Boys Upstairs, Abbi graduated from NYU’s Gallatin School concentrating in costume history and jewelry design. She has worked in fashion and film and now finds herself in the world of theater. Currently Abbi is the wardrobe designer, stylist and supervisor for The Awesome 80’s Prom and is also about to launch her own line of jewelry "Brooklyn Heavy Metal". Thanks to Matt Kovich and Justin Pifer for this wonderful opportunity. Ryan Howell (Design Assistant) is a senior at Penn State University finishing his degree in Scenic Design. Ryan has designed Tale of the West Texas Marsupial Girl for the School of Theatre's University Resident Theatre Company and will be have his designs for She Loves Me produced this fall. Ryan has also designed Once Upon a Mattress and Jekyll & Hyde for the Penn State Thespians. Others production credits include: Hay Fever (Charge Artist), The Wiz (Charge Artist), Die Fledermaus (Asst. Charge Artist), Pentecost (Asst. Props Master), Alexander and the...Bad Day (Props Master), Mother Courage (Asst. Props Master). Ryan would like to thank Justin for this opportunity and his mom-ager for dealing with him every day of her life. Joshua Fraenkel (Marketing Director) is excited to be part of The Boys Upstairs team. He is a Junior Account Executive at one of today’s leading entertainment advertising agencies, SpotCo. In his 2 years at SpotCo, Josh has had the privilege of working on such Broadway shows as: 9 to 5: The Musical, August: Osage County, A Bronx Tale, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, CHICAGO, The Color Purple. Cyrano, SHREK The Musical, Young Frankenstein, and the upcoming A Steady Rain starring Hugh Jackman and Daniel Craig. SAMANTHA SOUZA (Production Photographer) grew up in Los Angeles, California. It was there that she found her passion for photography and studied under Elizabeth Dupuy, specializing in darkroom photography, and slowly moving into digital format. Samantha has since moved to New York City, where she also performs, directs and produces.
